Current 1 year CD rates at banks are averaging 0.23 percent in the FDIC's National Rate and Rates Cap Survey for January 22, 2013. 1 year CD rates are down from the December 24, 2012, average rate of 0.24 percent.
Last month the best CD rates on 1 year CDs were slightly higher at 1.10 percent with an APY of 1.11 percent. Both average CD interest rates and the highest CD rates will continue to move lower in 2013. The declines in 2013 will be small just because rates are already low they can't fall that much more. The second highest 1 year CD rate on our list this week is from E-Loan.com. Current 1 year E-loan CD rates are at 1.02 percent with an APY of 1.02 percent. The third highest CD rate on our list this week is from three different banks at 1.00 percent. Discover Bank 1 year CD rates, ablebanking 1 year CD rates and OneWest Bank 1 year CD rates are all at 1.00 percent with an APY of 1.00 percent.
