Home Mortgage Rates: 30 Year Mortgage Rates Higher, 15 Year Mortgage Rates Lower – MBA

Fixed home mortgage rates are mixed in the latest mortgage survey released this morning by the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). 30 year fixed mortgage rates are higher and 15 year fixed mortgage rates are lower for the week ending October 29, 2010. 30 year fixed home mortgage rates increased to 4.28 percent for the week ending October 29, 2010, an increase from the previous week’s average of 4.25 percent. Average mortgage discount points on 30 year home mortgage loans increased to 10.7 points, up from the prior week’s average of 1.00 points.

Fixed 15 year fixed home mortgage rates decreased to 3.64 percent for the week ending October 29, 2010, down from the previous week’s average 15 year home mortgage rate of 3.67 percent. Average mortgage discount points on 15 year home mortgage loan rates increased to 1.08 points, up from the previous week’s average of 0.96 points.
