CD Rates: 1 Year Bank CD Rates 2012

Average CD rates are continuing their slow decline of the past several years. The national average 1 year CD rate is now at 0.406%, though you can find 1 year CD rates higher than the national average. CIT Bank recently lowered the rate on their 12 month CD but still has a rate of 1.07% with an APY of 1.08%.

You can search and compare the best CD rates in your area by searching our CD rates table here: CD rates.

Other national banks offering 12 month bank CD rates well above the national average include First Internet Bank of Indiana with a 12 month CD rate and APY of 1.00%.

The third best CD rate on our national list of 1 year CD rates at banks is from Ally Bank. 1 year Ally Bank CD rates are at 0.99% with an APY of 0.99%. Ally Bank is also offering 18 month CD rates slightly higher at 1.00% with an APY of 1.00% but I would stick to the 12 month CD considering CD rates in general will be higher a year from now.

The fourth highest CD rate on our list of 12 month CD rates is from AIG Bank. 1 year AIG Bank CD rates are at 0.95% with a yield of 0.95%. AIG Bank's 18 month CD rates are also at 0.95% but again I wouldn't invest in a CD term longer than 1 year right now.

Rounding out the top 5 CD rates on 12 month national average CD rates list is Union National Bank. The bank is offering 12 month rates and yields at 0.93%. Use our free CD calculator to figure out how much interest you will earn on with your certificate of deposit investments.
