Interest Rates This Week: Mortgage Rates Decline and CD Rates Unchanged

Average 30 year mortgage rates today are at 4.30 percent, down from last week's average 30 year mortgage rate of 4.37 percent. Earlier last week, mortgage rates moved higher on a stronger than expected jobs report, showing the creation of 204,000 new private sector jobs, which was much higher than the expected number of 100,000.
