1 Year CD Rates That are Higher Than Most Rates AvailableOver the past year to two there haven't been any big moves in CD rates. What we have seen is a slow decent to lower and lower rates. Surprising this past month at least three big national banks have actually increased CD rates they pay on some CD terms. Some of Ally Bank CD rates were increased, CIT Bank CDs and CD rates at Barclays Bank have also gone higher. While the increases weren't much it is nice to see some big banks increase rates in this economy. Even with the increases the best CD rate on 1 year CDs are just over 1.00 percent. Currently on our 1 year CD rate table Doral Bank (FDIC Cert: 32102) based in Puerto Rico is offering a 1 year rate at 1.14 percent with an APY of 1.15 percent. Coming in second place on our top 1 year CD rates list is CIT Bank (FDIC Cert: 35575). 1 year Achiever CD rates at CIT Bank are at 1.09 percent with an APY of 1.10 percent (min balance $25K). Don't have 25k to drop into a CD account? Don't worry CIT Bank CD rates on 1 year CDs with a minimum balance of $1,000 have a current CD rate of 1.05 percent with an APY of 1.06 percent. The third highest CD rates on our list are from MetLife Bank (FDIC Cert: 35055) and Colorado Federal Savings Bank (FDIC Cert: 33111). Current 1 year MetLife Bank CD Rates and CFSB rates are at 1.04 percent with a 1.05 percent APY. Moving onto the fourth best rate is EH National Bank (FDIC Cert: 57734) with a current 12 month rate and yield of 1.04 percent. Rounding out the top 5 rates is Ally Bank which has a current 12 month CD rate of 1.02 percent with an APY of 1.03 percent. |
