Explore Other Rate DealsMortgage rates fell again in this week's Mortgage Application Survey which isn't a surprise since bond yields were also lower this past week. The average contact mortgage rate on 30 year mortgage loans is down to 4.46% for the week ending June 24, 2011, down from the prior week's average of 4.57%. Average mortgage points on 30 year home loans increased to 1.19 points, up from the previous week's average of 0.91 points.
We do anticipate deposit rates moving higher in the coming months when the Fed increases the fed funds rate. Hopefully by the end of 2015, the best savings rates will be above 2.00 percent. Below is a quick rundown of the current highest savings rates and money market rates available.
Speculation on when the Federal Open Market Committee will increase interest rates continues to change. The most recent round of speculation is based on the FOMC's January 2015 meeting minutes. The minutes show the FOMC hesitating to increase rates in June 2015 on fears of derailing the economic recovery.
