The best CD rates on jumbo certificates of deposit are slightly above regular CD rates as margins are squeezed by the Federal Reserve, forcing banks to lower rates. This week the highest jumbo CD rates are about 5 to 10 basis points above the highest regular CD rates. The difference in the FDIC's national average regular rates and jumbo rates is even smaller.
