Mortgage Rates at Highest Level in 8 Months – 30 Year Mortgage Rates at 5.21%

Mortgage rates are higher in the latest mortgage survey released this week by Freddie Mac. The average conforming fixed 30 year mortgage rate is at 5.21 percent for the week ending April 8, 2010 up from the prior week's average conforming mortgage rate of 5.08 percent. This week's increase pushed 30 year mortgage rates to the highest level in eight months. Mortgage discount points averaged 0.6 points, up from last week's average of 0.7 points.
