Savings rates and money market rates are dismal these days. Interest rates probably won't be heading higher until early 2011 or even later. Current savings account interest rates and money market account interest rates for account balances of at least $2,500 are averaging 0.315 percent but you can find rates higher than the national average.

We have complied a list of the highest Floridasavings account yields and Florida money market account yields. Right now, BankcorpSouth has the highest savings rate and savings yield in FL as long as  you meet the account requirements. The current high yield savings account rate is 1.49% with an APY of 1.50%. Here are the BankcorpSouth requirements:

Capital One Banking and Discover Bank have the third highest FL savings yield. Both banks are currently offering a savings interest rate of 1.34 percent with a savings yield of 1.35 percent.
