Bank CD Rates on 6 Month CDs: Best Rate at 0.90%

There are many 6 month bank CD rates which are as high as 12 month CD rates or even higher than longer term CD interest rates. The highest CD rate on our 6 month rate table is from Ascencia Bank at 0.90 percent with an APY of 0.90 percent. The current national average 6 month CD rate is about half Asencia Bank's rate at 0.47 percent. The FDIC national average is even lower at 0.18 percent.

The second best CD rate on our list is from two different banks. EH National Bank and Colorado Federal Savings Bank are both offering 6 month CD rates at banks at 0.80 percent with an APY of 0.80 percent.



Moving on to the third highest CD rate on our list we find AloStar Bank of Commerce offering 6 month rates at 0.76 percent with an APY of 0.76 percent. By the way, all the bank certificates of deposit listed on our rate table are FDIC insured.

Two banks are offering the fourth best rate on our list. Doral Bank and Discover Bank CD ratesfor 6 month CDs are currently offered at 0.75 percent with an APY of 0.75 percent.

Rounding out the top 5 CD rates on our list is Ally Bank. Current 6 month CD rates at Ally Bank are offered at 0.74 percent with an APY of 0.74 percent. 6 month rates at Ally are 10 basis points lower than Ally Bank's current savings rate and money market rate of 0.84 percent.

EverBank has the sixth highest rate on our list. EverBank's current 6 month rate is at 0.72 percent with an APY of 0.72 percent. The seventh best CD interest rate on our list goes to Virtual Bank at 0.70 percent with an APY of 0.70 percent.

Lone Star Bank and Barclays Bank CD rates on 6 month CDs are tied for the eigth best rate at 0.65 percent APY of 0.65 percent. USAA Bank has the ninth best rate on our list at 0.61 percent and CIT Bank rounds out the top 10 CD rates at 0.45 percent.
