Municipal Credit Union of New York, New York, is advertising five different types of savings accounts and a money market account. The five types of savings accounts include a regular Share Savings Account, a Smart Apple Savers Savings Account, a Future Investors Club Savings Account, a Holiday Club Savings Account and a Vacation Club Savings Account.

The credit union’s savings account and money market account have tiered interest rates. The credit union’s highest savings account rate is on their Share Savings Account with account balances of $50,000 or higher. The current savings account rate is 1.00 percent with an annual percentage yield of 1.00 percent.

• Balances of $1,000 to $3,999 – 0.15% Rate 0.15% APY

• Balances of $50,000 or more - 1.00% Rate 1.00% APY

• Balances of $2,500 – $9,999 0.55% Rate 0.55% APY
• Balances of $10,000 – $24,999 0.65% Rate 0.65% APY

• Balances of $50,000 – and over 0.95% Rate 0.95% APY

The minimum opening money market account balance is $2,500. If your balance falls below $2,500, a $5 monthly fee will be charged but you still earn the same rate and yield. Share Savings Accounts, Holiday Savings Accounts and Vacation Club Savings Accounts have a minimum opening deposit of $5.00. Smart Apple Savers Savings Accounts and Future Investors Club Savings Accounts have a minimum opening deposit of $10.00.
