Chase Bank is offering a $100 bonus when you open a checking account between now and July 24, 2009. There is a minimum opening deposit of $100. In order to qualify for the bonus you must also make five debit card purchases or setup direct deposit with the account within 60 calendar days of opening the checking account. Once you have meet the criteria for the bonus the $100 will be deposited into your checking account. The account must remain open for six months otherwise $100 will be deducted from your account when it’s closed. The cash is considered interest and reported to the IRS on a 1099-INT form by the bank so you will have to pay income tax on the $100. A checking account can be opened online or at a local branch by having Chase Bank email you a coupon. |
