Alabama Central Credit Union is advertising certificates of deposit with terms ranging between 3 months and 5 years. Regular certificates of deposit and Individual Retirement Account (IRA) certificates of deposit are available.

The credit union has some of the highest CD rates available these days from any credit union or bank. Regular certificates of deposit have a minimum opening balance of $500. IRA certificates of deposit have a minimum opening balance of $250.

The credit unions’ 12 month certificate of deposit rate is one of the best CD rates currently available. The current 12 month CD rate is 1.656 percent with an annual percentage yield (APY) of 1.75%. That CD rate is a lot higher than the current national 12 month CD rate of 0.90 percent.
